While it is possible to receive more than one
invoice for long distance calls, you should
never be billed for the same calls twice. You
may, however, receive more than one bill for the
following reasons:
a. You may not have switched all of your
telephone numbers to Talk America. Add your
additional lines now by simply contacting the
customer service.
b. The calls may have been made prior to your
local telephone company changing your service to
Talk America.
c. Another carrier may have switched your
long distance carrier selection without your
authorization.
d. Collect or third party calls will be
billed from the carrier the caller used to reach
you.
e. Dialing another carrier's access code
prior to the number you are dialing would
generate a bill for calls by that carrier.
You may want to contact your local telephone
company and request a restriction on your
telephone lines to The Phone Company, the name
Talk America does business as in many
jurisdictions. This will ensure your telephone
lines remain on Talk America Long Distance. Your
local telephone company may request our carrier
identification code (CIC), which is 101- 6746 or
our Access Carrier Name Abbreviation (ACNA)
code, which is TVN, to make this change.
